Your data

AO Advocates will collect information that you (“the User”) supply via this Website through any Contact forms; such information may include your name, postal address, email address, and telephone number. AO Advocates gathers this information in order to respond to your enquiry. Information provided to us is subject to confidentiality and will not be disclosed without your prior consent to any third party, other than to any employee or other person affiliated with the firm for the purpose of providing you with the service you require, or to comply with any applicable laws or lawful government and/or regulatory requests.

Data from such forms may be stored for the following purposes

  • Managing the User's claim
  • Providing further services to the User; and
  • as required by any law or request of any court of competent authority.

AO Advocates will not be in breach of any obligation to keep any confidential information confidential or not to disclose it to any other party to the extent that the information in question: 

  • is known to AO Advocates before its receipt from the User, and not already subject to any obligation of confidentiality to the User; 
  • is or becomes publicly known without any breach of our confidentiality policy or any other undertaking to keep it confidential;
  • has been obtained by AO Advocates from a third party in circumstances where AO Advocates has no reason to believe that there has been a breach of an obligation of confidentiality owed to the User; 
  • is disclosed pursuant to the requirement of any law or regulation of the order of any court of competent jurisdiction; or
  • is approved for release in writing by the User.

For the sake of clarity, no information entered in to any Comments form on the Website shall ever be treated as confidential information. 

How AO Advocates protects your data

AO Advocates has put in place various security procedures to protect your information.  These measures include the installation of firewalls to the computer system; limited employee access; and system password protection.

Traffic monitoring

As you would expect, we monitor visits to our Website, principally to improve the Website and our services, and so that we can make sure the Website is easy to navigate. The information that we collect in this process will not identify you as an individual, unless you volunteer your contact details through one of the forms on the Website. The Website uses third party statistics and traffic analysis packages to process this anonymous information (“Statistics Software”).  The third-party providing Statistics Software is currently Google Inc. Such third parties are liable to change without notice. The information generated by the Statistics Software about the User’s use of the Website (including the User’s IP address) will be transmitted to and stored by Google or other third parties on servers in the United States and the United Kingdom. Such information shall be used by the third parties for the purpose of evaluating the User’s use of the Website, compiling reports on Website activity and providing other services relating to Website activity and internet usage. Information may be provided to further third parties where required to do so by law, or where such third parties process the information on Jeff Anderson Ann Olivarius Law’s behalf. By using this Website, the User consents to the processing of data through the Statistics Software in the manner and for the purposes set out above.
